Makeup Dupes : Affordable & Highend
Seriously I love makeup so much and I'm always on the hunt for a good dupe. As much as Iove high end makeup, it's so satisfying to find makeup for an affordable price that I truly love as much. In these dupes I'm going to share the names, prices and my favorite of the two. Sometimes it's the high end item and others it's the affordable one. Some of these items are in my everyday make up routine and are my ride or dies. These are also makeup products I use and trust. I have dry and sensitive skin and I enjoy a light-medium coverage foundation. Not to mention I have very fair skin. If any of you need good products for your specific skin type, comment down below and I can give you some recommendations. Don't forget that even if you have oily, combo or normal skin your face still needs moisture. So these are some of my favorite products and if you want me to do another dupe post for oily full coverage kind of girls I would love too! I have tried so much type of makeup not to mention my sister is a full coverage kind of a gal! Any questions about makeup you have, feel free to comment down below and I can answer any of them.
Primer : Too faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer $32 at Sephora VS Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer Lotion $8 at Walmart
- I have used the Too Faced Primer for years and it's so moisturizing which is what I look for in a primer. It also smells good and it doesn't irritate my skin. Hard Candy is a great dupe for the Too Faced the huge difference is the hangover primer is a more gel formula vs a lotion. If I had to pick I would choose the Too Faced and that's because in my eyes nothing compares.
Foundation : Giorgio Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation $64 at Sephora VS L'Oréal Infallible Pro-Glow Foundation $10.97 at Walmart or $12.99 at ULTA
- I hate full coverage foundation, I've tried so many and it's not for me. Both of these are light to medium coverage that give you the inner glow. Neither of these foundations are for oily skin but if you have normal to dry and love a dewy finish you will love these! They don't have the best shade selection but with sheer foundations you don't need the absolute perfect match because you can blend it right into your skin if that makes any sense haha.
Concealer : Tarte Shape Tape Concealer $27 at Ulta VS Colourpop No Filter Concealer $6 on Colourpop.com
- Both are great concealers. Both full coverage. The No Filter Concealer will get a little bit darker after you apply so I recommend getting a shade lighter than you normally would also to set both concealers after applying them. I own both of these and enjoy both of them. Considering I have crazy dark circles from no sleep from having puppies and it covers them well. But my favorite concealer is by NARS it's the soft matte complete creamy concealer $30. It's medium-full coverage depending on how much you put on, it's easy to blend and lasts all day. All of these have great shade selections and are for all skin types.
Loose Powder: Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder $35 at Sephora VS Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder $5.97 at Walmart
- Cover FX Perfect Setting Powder is my tried and true. It's the best for setting your face, under eye baking and all of the above. The Coty Airspun also does a really amazing job. The only thing is that it has a really strong smell. I'll leave it to you to decide how you feel about the smell because it doesn't bother me. If I were to choose one I would choose the high end but if your on a budget and need a dupe the Coty Airspun Powder will do a great job too!
Pressed Powder: Kat Von D Lock-It Blotting Powder $29 at Sephora VS Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder $3.97 at Walmart
- Each of these things claim to do a different thing but I use them for the same thing. As I said I have dry skin and both of them claim to be oil controlling. I use them to set my whole face and under my eyes. The high end one is a blotting powder that is finely milled and so if you have oily skin this is going to be great for you as well as dry skin because it's not going to layer on top of your makeup it's going to sink in and give you a flawless finish. As well at the affordable one because it's matte. I usually try and stay away from super matte products but neither of these products look heavy on the skin. I love both of these and use them on a daily basis. So they aren't exact dupes but ones that I would recommend both. I can't choose a favorite I love both equally.
Bronzer: Mac Mineralized Skin Finish in Gold Deposit $34 at Macy's VS Milani Baked Bronzer in Soleil 05 $10.49 at Walgreens
- Both of these are beautiful and I use them on top of my contour to warm up my skin. It gives you the best sun kissed glow. If I had to choose I would choose the Milani it's affordable and I own multiple shades and love them all. It's a great formula.
Blush: Kylie Cosmetics Blush in the shade X Rated $20 On kyliecosmetics.com VS Flower Pots Powder Blush in the shade Peach Primrose $8.98 at Walmart
- Neither of this are super matte blushes. I feel they are more of a statin finish. Also both are buildable formulas which is the best. I hate when blush is super pigmented and you don't realize it and then you look like a doll with hot pink cheeks and have to blend life away. I love both blushes equally, Kylie does sales all the time and I got my blush for $11 so it wasn't that much more than the Flower Blush.
- Jeffree Star's highlight formula is one of the best highlights in the beauty industry in my opinion. I also like a blinding highlight unless I'm going for the no makeup look. In other highlight formulas I've found it's blinding but doesn't last all day the skin and Jeffree Star Cosmetics always lasts on my skin. Maybelline's Highlight in Molten Rose Gold is amazing and is new to the drug store. It's an affordable highlight that lasts all day on the skin. I recommend both.
- I don't usually wear cream highlights but if I do I don't wear any face makeup and this is the route I go. The Watts Up! is beautiful but I would buy the Flower Beauty over it only because I don't use it every day and the price is right. But you can't go wrong with either.
Contour: Kat Von D Shade and Light Pallet $48 at Sephora VS Profusion Cosmetics Trendsetter Contour Pallet $12.49 at Target (you can also find it at TJ Maxx for $7.99)
- I love both of these, they both blend like a dream and come with multiple shades. The profusion comes with 6 matte shades, 2 highlights, 3 brushes and a mirror. The Kat Von D comes with 6 matte shades and a mirror. It's up to you to decide which you prefer. I love both for different reasons. The Kat Von D has my perfect contour shade but the profusion is a great dupe.
Cream Contour: Hoola Cream to Powder Quickie Contour Stick $28 at Ulta VS NYX Professional Makeup Wonder Stick Concealer $11.99 at Target
-
Honestly cream contour can be tricky, and I use to struggle with it. But these two products make it so easy to do. I use a small stippling brush to blend both in. The two brushes I use are from Elf and the other is from Colourpop (this one is a little denser). The NYX one you get a highlight and a contour which might seem like a plus, but I don’t use the highlight side because it doesn’t have any coverage. Another thing to consider would be the NYX has a few shades and the Hoola does not. I’ll leave it to you to decide which you would prefer because I love both.

These are both amazing setting sprays, one thing to consider is the Milani one has alcohol in the ingredient and alcohol isn’t all that great for your skin but if you are using this to pro long your makeup when you go out then I think your skin will be fine but that’s up to you. The both help prolong your makeup and if you spray some on your sponge and press it on your face after your finished with your makeup it will give you a skin like finish rather than powder. The Urban Decay is my ride or die and I choose it over the Milani only because I don’t like to put alcohol on my skin every day, but I do own both and use the Milani for special occasions.

Okay lip gloss is my favorite lip product ever. I prefer a plumping sensation along with a minty flavor/smell so if you don’t like either of these things these glosses aren’t for you. These are my top three gloss formulas and I recommend all of them. My favorite use to be the Buxom before I discovered the Sephora brand. Then recently I was at Walmart and saw Elf had made a plumping gloss too! Omg I love all of them, but my favorite is the Sephora brand. They all have different shades as well.
-
Mac Velvet Teddy is my favorite lipstick shade and I was on a hunt for a dupe. I found the Bare It All from Wet N Wild and it’s almost a exact dupe! If I had to choose I would choose the MAC formula only because it lasts on my lips a while longer than the Wet N Wild does.
- All through out high school I refused to buy high end mascara which is silly but the Maybelline Lash Sensational was my tried and true but it always seemed to flake off on to my face and I would have black every where. One Christmas my mom had bought me a mascara vault from Sephora and my favorite mascara was the Roller Lash so I went back to it my senior year of high school. It doesn't flake it separates my lashes, I love it. Honestly though mascara is such a preference makeup item because I have really bad lashes, they are short and hold no curl . So I look for a mascara that doesn't flake and separates my lashes and if you look for the same things as me these are both great mascaras. If I had to choose I would choose the Roller Lash by Benefit only because it doesn't flake on me.
- I have been through hell and back with my eyebrows and they have only gotten better over the years. I started with powder and then went to wax and finally settled on a brow pencil. I was using Anastasia Beverly Hills brow definer in taupe and it wasn't the perfect shade but I used it for probably two years. Then I wanted to try something new so I switched to Benefit Precisely My Brow Pencil in shade 1 and I have never looked back. It's easy to get a very precise line and the shade is perfect! I've never been able to find a drug store dupe but L'Oréal gives it a run for it's money. The only difference is, L'Oréal's is a little more waxy. Wax can actually pull out your brow hairs if it's too waxy so be careful. I still prefer my Benefit but if I run out which I have, I feel confident reaching for the L'Oréal's brow stylist.
- Elf is a great alternative for the Anastasia clear brow gel but I love how feathery the Anastasia one makes my brows and how even if I sweat my butt off my brows stay in place. A brow gel is always a must for me because my hairs are so light as is and I don't grow much hair on the outer half of my brows so if I don't use a brow gel then my brows just rub right off.
- I seriously don't wear eyeliner but when I did I use to do wing liner every day and these two were my favorites. I also always recommend these to people when I'm doing there makeup. I say pick up the essence one if you want a precise wing liner and don't wear eyeliner everyday. But if you wear just a black line for eyeliner everyday then pick up the Tattoo Liner by Kat Von D.

Lash Adhesive: Kiss eyelash adhesive (it dries clear) it's latex free and I'm allergic to latex so this is what I have found that works best for me. It's also really user friendly if you are new to using false lashes and it is $3.99 at Ulta. | Here I'm wearing the lashes & other makeup products mentioned. |
