ways to unwind and deal with stress
Honestly I have a pretty stress free life, but that doesn't mean I don't get stressed out. Here are some of my favorite ways that I unwind after a long day.
A bath is my favorite way to unwind after a stressful day. But I know not all people are bath people, so what I like to do is add a bath bomb (Lush bath bombs are the best but I really love the ones from the Boise Co-Op too) I also know that not all people can afford bath bombs because they are pretty expensive so some alternatives are, adding some of your soap to make it a bubble bath or add some bath salts you can get a huge bag for cheap at Walmart or you can make your own bath bombs with some of the ingredients you have laying around at home. Lighting some candles while your in the bath makes it so more relaxing and if you want to take it to the next level, you can get a bath pillow. I have one and it was the greatest investment; I got mine from Tuesday Morning for $6.99. If you don't want to by a pillow, I recommend rolling up a towel and placing it under your neck, it makes a huge difference. While your in the bath don't bring your phone in there to scroll through social media, I find it doesn't relive any tension. You need to just sit in the bath and relax and unplug from the world for 10 minutes.

Second way I like to unwind is to take a 20 minute cat nap, it seems silly but seriously it's the best. It just gives you a few minutes to relax.
The third way to unwind is journal, personally I don't journal but I know plenty of people that do and they LOVE IT! I consider blogging my journal it allows me to write about things going on in my life and tips that I use daily. So this is like my little journal. You can write in your journal about your day or things that you wish you could achieve. Writing down your goals really helps, whether it's something big or small.
Fourth PLAY! You're thinking like what are you talking about Rylee, but seriously playing will help so much. It allows you to relieve stress and put the energy into something else. I usually play with my dogs, whether it's playing fetch with them or going on a walk around the block. I find it allows me to forget about what I've been stressing out and my dogs love it because they get to do something they enjoy.
Fifth- work out. First semester of college I was getting so stressed out and pushing my stress onto everyone around me. So I made sure I made the gym a priority and it helped so much. I still make it appoint to go to the gym and relive stress and if I can't make it to the gym since it's starting get nice outside, I love to go on walks with my dogs like I said before, or I will go on a hike. Brady is wanting to get a bike and once he does we really want to go riding on the green belt. You don't have to go to the gym but instead you could get outside and being active will do the job too. I play slow pitch and the season is coming up and I love having games and getting to run around and be competitive.
Sixth- TREAT YO SELF .. Go get your nails done, go get a massage, buy yourself a coffee. Feel good about yourself. It's all about self love.
Seventh- Get a planner.. Sometimes we get stressed out at work or school because there isn't enough time in the day to get everything done. But if you can write down what you can do tomorrow and the next day it helps because you can only worry about what's in the present moment. It's helped me with homework not stressing about due dates because I know whatever day it is I will get it done where it fits in my schedule. Whether that's a week before it's due or 3 hours before. Write in your planner it's a life saver with unwinding.
Eighth and Final one Read or Watch some TV - It's so relaxing to be able todo what you want to do. Whether it's reading a good book or putting on your favorite TV show. Give yourself some time to unwind doing something you enjoy.
